Research AssociateThe George Mason University Schar School of Policy and Government, invites highly qualified candidates to apply for the position of Research Associate in the Center of Advancing Correctional Excellence (ACE!).
ACE! is seeking a researcher to collaborate on research at the interface between health and criminology.
This position will support the work of various studies focused on policies to advance interventions to interrupt involvement in criminal behavior, substance use behaviors and other risk behaviors, implementation studies, and/or interventions to create high performing organizations.
Additionally, the position includes use of administrative data, overseeing human subject protocols, and statistical modeling.

ResponsibilitiesThe Research Associate will:
As part of a team, lead and/or work on study protocols;Create and maintain research databases;Conduct interviews and/or focus groups;Conduct sophisticated statistical analyses;Manage response rates;Manage field staff;Collaborate with team members on empirical studies and research projects;Assist in the design of new studies; andAssist in the supervision of our outstanding graduate research assistants and field staff.
Required
Qualifications:
PhD or a Masters with five years of relevant experience working on research studies in the intersection of health and justice;Qualitative skills;Outstanding quantitative skills, including experience with SPSS, R, STATA, and/or SAS;Experience with administrative data sets, randomized controlled data, quantitative analysis, and working with teams from various institutions;Experience working with justice-involved populations;Demonstrated experience working with relational databases to extract and merge data from multiple sources;Working knowledge of a visualization tool such as SAS Viya, Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny;Demonstrated knowledge and experience in statistical analysis (e.
g.
, inferential statistic, multivariate statistics) and research design;Ability to manage multiple projects accurately and efficiently;Advanced written and verbal communication skills with various technical and non-technical audiences;Strong interest in academic publication;Work with organizations in justice and health settings; andExcellent writing and presentation skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
