Department of Health Administration and Policy - Term Instructional FacultyAbout the Position:
The Department of Health Administration and Policy within the College of Public Health at George Mason University is launching an open-rank search for a term (non-tenure track) 9-month, instructional faculty in health care management.
The successful candidate will have a terminal degree and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Human resources managementMarketing and/or strategic planningHealthcare finance/accountingQualified candidates with expertise in other specialized practice areas in health administration such as Quality Improvement and specialty service line management may also be considered.
This is a state-funded, full-time (9-month) instructional (non-tenure-track) faculty position with the option of additional summer teaching opportunities.
The appointment will begin in August for Academic Year 2023-2024.

Responsibilities:
Teach courses related to Health Systems Management across the undergraduate and graduate program curriculum;Serve as a member of the undergraduate and graduate program faculty wherein faculty work to ensure curriculum currency, participate in program evaluation, support academic and professional advising (students and alumni) and program accreditation management;Participate in student and faculty recruitment and academic program outreach activities; andServe on Department, CPH and University level faculty committees and working groups.
Required
Qualifications:
Earned Doctoral Degree in health administration, business administration, health professional degree or other fields related to the expertise sought at time of employment date;Teaching and/or mentoring experience; andStrong interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Prior experience with hybrid and online teaching and mentoring graduate students in a healthcare management;Specialty certification(s) or experience in a practice area related to the areas of expertise sought;Highly qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of AUPHA certification and CAHME accreditation for healthcare management academic programs; andBecause the HAP department's faculty members include scholars from multiple academic and professional disciplines, we are especially interested in applicants with a background and commitment to interdisciplinary, collaborative teaching and research.
Rank and salary of the position will be commensurate with the individual's qualifications and experience.
