Health Informatics Instructional Faculty
Health Informatics - Instructional FacultyDepartment of Health Administration and Policy The Department of Health Administration and Policy within the College of Public Health at George Mason University is launching an open-rank search for a term 12-month (non-tenure track) instructional faculty in health informatics.
This position will supervise Health Informatics undergraduate and graduate students engaged in Mason MAP clinic internships 2-3 days per week.
The incumbent will work with MAP clinic and departmental faculty to plan and implement a hands-on internship experience for students supporting the MAP Clinic HER and support student data entry and extraction for the system, as well as managing HI student integration in the day-to-day operations of selected MAP clinics.
Growth of the health informatics programs and our commitment to offering all online programs of study has created the need for a unified approach to managing student career and academic advising to ensure curriculum goal attainment regardless of the matriculation pathway and to the same or equivalent academic program experiences and student outcomes, regardless of matriculation modality.
Well qualified candidates will have a master's degree in health informatics or fields and areas of expertise related to health informatics.
This is a state-funded, full-time (12-month) instructional (non-tenure-track) faculty position.
The appointment will begin in August for Academic Year 2023-2024.

Responsibilities:
Teach technical and non-technical courses across the department's health informatics curriculum, focused on specialized health informatics topics;Coordinate MAP Clinic internship and practicum experiences across undergraduate and graduate programs in health informatics;Provide professional advising to health informatics students;Participate in student and faculty recruitment and academic program outreach activities; andServe on College and University level faculty committees and working groups.
Required
Qualifications:
Earned Master's Degree in health informatics, information technology, computer science or related field, or other relevant health professional degree such as MD or PharmD with Health Informatics experience.
An earned doctoral degree at time of employment date is required to teach academic courses in graduate programs; andExperience in teaching technical and non-technical courses across undergraduate and graduate programs.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Academic teaching experience (traditional and online); andActive membership in AMIA, AUPHA, ACHE, HIMSS or other relevant professional societies.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
