Designs and implements processes, experiments and prototyping solutions associated with a variety of data sets used for data mining, analysis, modeling, predicting and presenting Plans, develops and performs research on various machine learning tools and processes to discover information hidden in vast amounts of data delivering better insights into data patterns through algorithms, dashboards and queries Uses advanced statistical and reporting methods to develop solutions associated with very large and very complex data sets.
Works on extremely difficult challenges in machine learning, natural language understanding and computer vision Finds meaningful insight from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments Applies the engineering principles and techniques of computer science and statistics to develop data driven, evidence based, cross validated solutions to a wide variety of very complex problems.
Gains insight into key business problems and deliverables by applying statistical analysis techniques to examine structured and unstructured data from multiple disparate sources Analyzes and determines informational needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements and data output and reporting capabilities Collaborates across the organization and with senior management and leadership on major projects.
Frequently works with external customers Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments Receives no appreciable instruction on day-to-day work; more often responsible to define the scope, schedule and expectations of the work assignments Contributes and accountable to the completion of major programs and projects.
Responsible for resolution of significant and diverse problems and issues of broad scope and complexity Leads and/or directs large teams on major programs and projects; Provides mentoring and training to team members; Recognized internally and/or externally as subject matter expert Drives emerging technologies and applies to the customer domain through IRAD/CRAD Travel may be required Security clearance may be required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
A seasoned, experienced professional having a broad range of expertise, unique knowledge and a wide range of professional experience and possessing a demonstrated understanding in data integration, data visualization, big data and programming skills, possessing a demonstrated understanding of artificial intelligence or machine learning with the ability to apply these skills under real world conditions Possessing a wide range of experience with either data mining tools, statistical pattern recognition, machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, and scripting Possesses demonstrated skills and experience to champion new ideas and products along with experience with leading process improvements Experience leading teams that create and use advanced machine learning algorithms with one or more of the following skills:
statistics, regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks Experience leading teams that create data architectures for distributed data Extensive experience with programming and scripting languages Very strong knowledge of various data structures and common methods in data transformation Advanced knowledge on database technologies, operating systems, best practices, and industry trends including database design, configuration, tuning, and support Advanced knowledge of SQL and SQL query tuning techniques Extensive experience using statistical computer languages to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets Possesses demonstrated leadership and judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining analytical solutions Capable of working on problems of diverse scope requiring extensive analysis of data and its evaluation Demonstrated experience implementing or leading teams that implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed Extensive background in, or leading teams that perform, data mining or statistical analysis or pattern recognition or predictive modeling skills Solid presentation, oral/written communication, and inter-personal skills including the ability to:
