Job DescriptionAs the Director, Grants Accounting, this role oversees the federal, state and private grants for the System, with primary responsibility for the annual audit in accordance with Uniform Grant Guidance.
You will lead and coordinate strategic developmental/functional services to support department objectives and organizational goals.
To help achieve our mission, you will direct the operation of corporate grants accounting functions.
Your ability to maintain effective and responsive relationships with patients, attending medical staff and other departments is of vital importance.
Managing department finances such as budgeting, control of salary, non-salary and capital investment expenses is required.
Managing professional and clerical staff, including day to day supervision, team member relations and staff development is expected.
Job Responsibilities Exhibits strong knowledge in Uniform Grant Guidance and grants accounting.
Maintains primary responsibility for creating the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) and providing documentation for all requests from the external auditor for the annual Single Audit.
Reviews financial reports and invoices for federal, state or private grants for both non-research and research areas using accounting system reports, grantor budgets and agreements, and other supporting documentation.
Serves as a primary resource to program directors, principal investigators, grants management office teams, research business office, and other non-financial management for accounting analysis.
Oversees the day- to- day operation of all Accounting related activities.
Reviews and challenges financial data, results and reports to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Oversees comparative analysis of financial/statistical information to identify accounting solutions to complex or unusual issues.
Accurately interprets management objectives and develops data to support/effectively convey the message through presentations.
Ensures correct staff interpretation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and its application to accounting transactions or issues.
Responds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit and maintains cooperative relationships.
Ensures adherence to service excellence standards and the provision of outstanding service to internal and external customers.
Other duties as assigned.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
