Life Support Instructor 5
Job DescriptionInova Well's Life Support Programs is seeking a PRN (as needed) Life Support Instructor 5 to teach Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
The Life Support Instructor 5 must hold a current American Heart Association ACLS Instructor card and an American Heart Association PALS Instructor card.
This role supports the Inova Health System/ Inova Well American Heart Association Training Center, teaching ACLS and PALS classes while providing the highest quality learning environment and educational instruction for the health system and community healthcare professionals.
The Life Support Instructor 5 has a strong knowledge base with clinical experience in their field of expertise, at least 3 years' experience teaching the AHA curriculum ACLS and PALS and is qualified to serve as Course Director.
As a Life Support Instructor, you must be able to teach a minimum of 25 hours per quarter and be available to teach 1-2 days per week.

Responsibilities:
Must hold current American Heart Association ACLS Instructor card AND PALS Instructor card.
Excellent speaking ability and organizational skills.
Performs necessary administrative functions in accordance with educational program policies.
Ensures equipment is well maintained and in working order.
Must have excellent AHA record keeping skills, completing AHA skill sheets and paperwork.
Maintains professional status to ensure the highest quality educational programs.
Adheres to AHA and Inova Health System/ Inova Well Training Center policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years teaching ACLS and PALS.
Must have experience in clinical setting for example; EMS, EMT, RN, LPN, RT etc.
Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Certifications:
Must hold a current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Instructor card.
Must hold a current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor card.
