Medication Safety and Purchasing Pharmacist - Ambulatory Services
Job DescriptionPurchasing and Procurement Works with key stakeholders in ambulatory departments to ensure sites are rostered appropriately Evaluates current purchasing practices to identify opportunities for alignment, savings, and strategic buying Provides recommendations to pharmacy and ambulatory leadership for greater operational efficiency and/or cost stewardship Establishes formularies across sites and ensures compliance Facilitates onboarding of new care locations, including coordination of rostering and ordering for Medication Safety Works with both pharmacy leadership and ambulatory leadership to ensure the highest level of medication safety across all sites Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure medication safety and compliance with state and federal regulations Assists in root cause analysis for events that may occur in ambulatory sites related to medications Liaison for Other Health Care Disciplines Serves as medication safety expert and resource to team members; Maintains communication of medication safety events and best practices Works with pharmacy leadership and the medication safety officer to establish the vision, objectives, and policies and procedures for medication safety Other duties as assigned.
Requirements For ConsiderationLocation - Inova Center for Personalized Health Minimum Education - Doctorate PGY2 in Med Safety Schedule - Fulltime M-F Experience - 2 years experience in purchasing, regulatory, and medication safety.
