We are looking for a Security Integration Technician to service Northern Virginia and surrounding areas.
With a focus on our current growth and leaning into our core value that Anything is Possible, we have an opening for a Security Integration Technician to support our Security Integration Team.
WHAT IS A SECURITY INTEGRATION TECHNICIAN AT APV? APV provides access control systems and video security systems primarily to colleges and universities, K-12 school systems, and healthcare facilities.
We are looking for experienced security technicians to work in the Northern Virginia area with exposure to Enterprise level access control and video security systems.
Our focus on cutting edge technology like IP and PoE products along with our integration of the complete door opening into a security system provides challenging and exciting opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES HIGHLIGHTS Install, program, test, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage electronic access control and video security systems and products.
Install cabling for access and video systems.
Read and understand floor plans and electrical diagrams.
Mount system panels and devices.
Wire circuits and electrical connections for access control and video security.
Use of laptop and some programming will be necessary.
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Effective communication skills that will build and sustain good working relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with an ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously, with an understanding of when the Security Integration Manager or other senior leaders need to be involved in decision making.
Punctual and reliable; can be depended upon to honor commitments and manage/meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal, relationship and team building skills.
Able to exercise sound judgement, act with integrity and preserve confidentiality.
Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service experience.
Honest and trustworthy, with an ability to be positive and enthusiastic.
MUST HAVE High School Graduate or general education degree (GED).

years of integrated low voltage experience to include electrical wiring, electronics installation and mechanical equipment installation working experience.
DCJS certified Electronic Security Technician.
Experience or certification in AMAG, RS2, Feenics, Cbord, Vanderbilt, Lenel, Avigilon or similar major access control, video security systems or vendors is preferred.
Proficiency in Windows operating systems.
Ability to spend 1-4 nights out of town up to 6 times per year.
Outstanding customer service and good communication skills.
Able to lift 75 lbs, bend, stoop, climb ladders and tolerate heights as needed.
Satisfactory driving record.
Comfortable with use of technology, with good computer and mobile skills and the ability to embrace and adapt to changes to technology that is critical to how we work.
Any appropriate and effective combination of any of the above.
Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening.
