There will be a lot of 1 on 1 on the job training.
You will learn the criminal justice system and office management directly from me.
We will work together to grow the practice, fine tune our system and develop a team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to solo criminal defense attorney.
- Assist in filing legal documents at various court houses.
- Maintain and organize case files and documents - Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates - Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries with professionalism and discretion - Handle client communication.
- Assist in managing deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks - Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies - Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy and preparation - Assist in preparing for trials and hearings.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a law firm or legal setting is preferred - Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines - Strong clerical skills, including typing, filing, and data entry - Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced legal environment, supporting solo criminal defense attorney in her practice.
