We seek an energetic, highly-motivated individual who is an expert in logistics and transportation management and has experience in small parcel direct-to-consumer businesses to develop and lead our strategic logistics initiatives.
This
position
will report to the Vice President of Supply Chain and work closely with our Order Operations, Merchandising, Operations Technology & Finance teams to deliver higher service levels, generate greater logistics flexibility and create operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
The Strategic Logistics
manager
is responsible for vendor relationships including small parcel and freight
services
such as UPS, FedEx & USPS, supporting inbound & outbound logistics for our network of garment suppliers and printers and developing the logistics and transportation strategy to improve overall cost and delivery times.
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
Develop strategies to improve overall speed of delivery, including next day and same day delivery across the United States
Develop new shipping lanes and zone skips solutions to improve speed to the customer
Negotiate and structure UPS, FedEx and freight logistics plans, pricing and contracts
Work with operations technology team to develop software solutions that provide the best shipping options and pricing
Manage overall logistics and transportation costs for all inbound/outbound shipments
Manage carrier delivery defects and quality
Manage all corporate logistics and transportation accounts
Develop international shipment strategies.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of professional success in the field of logistics, transportation, supply chain management and/or comparable business function
High degree of complexity; strong problem solving and analytical skills
Experience with small parcel shipment and direct-to-consumer business required.
Demonstrated capacity to manage strategic programs from concept to implementation
Demonstrated leadership ability
Proven experience negotiating with logistics suppliers including UPS or FedEx
Collaborative approach to working within a team environment
Positive, customer-focused, results-oriented attitude
Lean experience is a plus.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
