Electrical Engineer for Fairfax, VA office. Duties will include building information modeling (BIM), design, drawing production, specification writing, discipline coordination between the various trades, shop drawing and submittal reviews, construction site reviews, and code reviews for MEP systems for projects. Focus will be on the electrical systems for buildings, however, this position may also include assisting with other building systems and the construction process in the various engineering disciplines practiced: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and construction services. The work may include base building and tenant interior systems on commercial, retail, mixed-use, residential, hotel, transportation, education, and various other types of projects. Successful candidates may be requested to participate in opportunities in other offices. Duties may also include the review of MEP systems designed by others, interface with code officials and contractors, working with architects and other clients, and working with others within the organization. This individual will work in a multi-discipline, team environment with primary responsibility for the design and production of Electrical construction documents for commercial and institutional projects as well as the design of building systems. The Electrical Engineer will also assist with the design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection. Pursuit of registrations, accreditations, and continuing education related to other areas of practice will be encouraged including USGBC LEED Accreditation, Professional Engineering license, and continuing education.
Required Skills & Required
Experience:
BSEE or Arch Engineering degree.
5 to 10 years of experience with MEP projects, especially, electrical system design.
Must be a licensed PE in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or be able to gain license through reciprocity within 6 months.
Must be LEED Accredited
Must have experience designing electrical systems and producing design documents for buildings in Revit MEP and AutoCAD
Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive and determination.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
