Lachel & Associates (Lachel), a subsidiary of Schnabel Engineering, Inc., is searching for a Lead Tunnel Engineer to join our office in Fairfax, VA. The successful candidate will become a key member of Lachel's tunnel team and will participate in the planning, designing, overseeing, and managing of tasks for tunnel design and construction management projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Preparing and managing preparation of structural and geotechnical design calculations, reports, and drawings for tunnels, shafts, and other underground facilities;
Developing cost estimates and feasibility studies;
Producing construction contract documents (e.g. plans, specifications, GBR and GDR);
Assisting with marketing, business development, and proposal writing efforts;
Participating in or directing the inspection of existing engineering projects;
Group supervision including coordination of daily project activities and managing projects; and
Input to operating budgets and tracking performance to meet budget goals.
Qualifications for the position include a Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering; candidates with a Master's Degree are preferred. PE required. U.S. Citizenship required; no sponsorship. Candidates must be capable of getting DoD security clearance at a minimum Secret level.
Candidates must possess 15 to 20 years of demonstrated tunnel design and construction experience. Knowledge of soil and rock mechanics,Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
