Immediate and urgent job opportunity for an accomplished Senior Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical Federal Contract in Fairfax, VA.
This is a contract to permanent opportunity.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
o Implement and manage multi-server deployments in a virtual environmento Collaborate with development teams to deploy new code for automated testingo Setup and maintain monitoring systems and alarms for continuous delivery and continuous integrationo Assist developers with PC configurationso Administer system backups, cable management, and the ability to lift 40lbs (computers, monitors, servers, etc.
)o Occasional need for off-hours support for system upgrades and maintenance activitieso Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly assess issues and identify steps to resolveo In depth knowledge of an infrastructure automation framework, such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt or PowerShell DSCo Strong System Administration experienceo Proficiency in scripting languages and shellso Experience setting up and managing Windows, IIS, SQL Server, PKI, Active Directory, Hyper-V, System Center, Team City, Artifactory, TFS and SharePointo Previous experience working in a software development shop is a pluso Documentation of solutionso Proactive collaboration with stakeholders to understand requirements early in the processOur client is a leading mid-sized provider of technology services to the United States Federal Government.

Citizens and be able to obtain a government public trust clearanceo 10
years of experience combining Development and Operational Administrationo In-depth knowledge of an infrastructure automation framework such as PowerShell DSC, Chef, Puppet, Ansible or Salto Experience setting up and maintaining complex Microsoft applicationso Ability to articulate concepts/ideas and work effectively with others to meet deadlines under pressureo Incorporate commitments, strategic objectives and day-to-day tasks seamlesslyo High level of problem solving and conflict resolution capabilitieso Knowledge and experience with operational monitoring systems, such as Xymon, Nagios or SCOM.
o Network engineering experience - Cisco firewalls, switches, VPNo Hands-on experience using PowerShell DSC, Active Directory, Hyper-V, SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2014)o Familiarity with Agile methodology and experience working on agile teamsDesired Skills:
o Linux experience and knowledge of Perl o Knowledge and experience of typical build and release management processes, including continuous integration platforms such as Team City.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
