Network Planning Engineer

We have an immediate need for a Network Engineer with strong planning and design experience to join our growing infrastructure team.
This is a direct hire, permanent job with an industry leader located in Fairfax, VA.
Relocation assistance IS available for candidates not local to Northern Virginia.
Because of the nature of our work, US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret level or Top Secret security clearance is required.
This is a Lead role, in which you will be responsible for designing, planning and implementing network hardware, software, telecommunications equipment for enterprise level local and wide area networks.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate network hardware and software and make purchase recommendations Recommend and implement network procedures and policies, including security policies and procedures.
Lead teams and provide technical experience at a senior level regarding network design, implementation and troubleshooting.
Help resolve network issues; perform root cause analysis for problems or issues surrounding VPNs, routing/switching, firewalls, etc.
5 years' experience with Juniper, Cisco or similar network equipment.
5 years' experience with VPNs, Layer 3 networking, routing protocols, firewall policy.
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of network infrastructure experience.
CCNA+Security, Comp TIA Security +, CISSP or similar network certifications highly desired.
Significant experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Multicast.
Vendor certifications for routing/switching or firewalls are a plus.
Previous experience supporting government or DoD customers is a plus.
Current security clearance (Secret or TS/SCI) is preferred.
Ability to obtain a security clearance is REQUIRED.
